This year, National Yoga Olympiad is to be conducted from June 18 to June 20, 2022 in all the districts, blocks and schools of the state. The theme of the Yoga Olympiad to be organized on the instructions of the Government of India has been set as “Yoga for Health and Harmony”.
In connection with organizing activities related to yoga at the state level, Director of Education Dr. Sarita Tiwari has issued instructions to all the district school inspectors of the state. According to the instructions issued, activities related to yoga will be organized at school/block, district and state level under National Yoga Olympiad. In which Kriya, Asana, Pranayama, Dhyana, Mudra and Bandha have been included.
It is known that yoga encourages a positive and healthy lifestyle for the physical and emotional health of children. Yoga is helpful in inculcating human values in the students and establishing harmony with nature and the universe.
Dr. Sarita Tiwari informed that 14 to 16 years old students studying in class 9 and class 10 in all government and aided schools can participate in Yoga Olympiad. In Yoga Olympiad, Hindi or English medium will be used by the students at school/block, district, state level and national level.
This is the first level of Yoga Olympiad at school/block level, where all schools can participate. The names of 04 students and 04 girls selected for first, second, third and fourth place in the competition will be sent for the next level. Similarly, at the district level, this yoga will be the second level of the Olympiad, where only those selected at the block level can participate. In this also, the names of 04 students and 04 students selected in first, second, third and fourth place will be sent for selection for the next level.
Yoga program is to be organized under Yoga Olympiad at school/block level by May 05, 2022 and at district level by May 08, 2022. The criteria for the selection of the participating students in the Yoga program have been set. In which the participants will be evaluated by a jury on the basis of criteria. Teachers, practitioners of the institutes and experts of yoga institutes will be nominated as members of the jury. The assessment of boys and girls will be done separately.
He said that under the Yoga Olympiad, the first, second and third place participants in the yoga program organized at the block/school and district level would be given eligibility certificates and other participants would be given participation certificates.
